About Floyd's Truck Center
FLOYD'S TRUCK STORY
In 1948 our Founder, Floyd Gillam started a small truck and farm machinery repair shop in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. He saw the importance of establishing a reputation for timely, quality work, at a fair price. In the early days Floyd’s original equipment included White and Freightliner trucks. Now in the 4th generation of family leadership, that fine standard of excellence in service and equipment as a Daimler Trucks North America dealer, enables company growth with training and equipment produced by the largest automotive manufacturer in the world.
In January of 2013, Floyd’s expanded operations from only three locations in Scottsbluff and Sidney, Nebraska, and Cheyenne, Wyoming to five locations with the purchase of the Freightliner dealership Eddie’s Truck Center in Rapid City and Ft Pierre, South Dakota. In December of 2016 the company added more locations in Gillette, Casper, and Rock Springs, Wyoming with the purchase of Jack’s Truck Center. This was later followed by our 2018 acquisition of Rocky Mountain Truck Center and Elite Kubota in Belgrade, MT. June 2021 marked the grand opening and expansion of Floyd’s Kubota in our Ft. Pierre, South Dakota location.
The Floyds truck group rebranded the 9 locations as Floyd's Truck Center, unveiling a new logo along with continuing to employ top talent and maintain the best sales, parts, and service network in the region.
Floyd’s features a full-service, nationally recognized, heavy truck body shop located in Scottsbluff, NE. All nine locations staff Elite level service departments with Daimler Certified, factory trained technicians on the latest diagnostic technology in the repair of today’s heavy truck equipment.
Floyd's Truck Center has proudly provided efficient, first-in-class service to US truck fleets and OTR truck drivers from coast-to-coast for over 75 years. Today, a reliable, efficient reputation precedes Floyds Truck Center as the premier one-stop shops among quality conscious drivers and fleets traveling along I-80, I-25 and I-90 throughout the Northern High Plains and the North Eastern Rocky Mountain regions.

FLOYD'S TRUCK MISSION
We exist to support the commercial transportation industry.
This is our way of helping our families and our communities prosper. Our company has grown because we take pride in our work and in each other. However, our past success cannot sustain us; instead we must continuously innovate, and always work toward quicker and simpler solutions for our customers. We will do this by supporting and challenging each other while always using our family values as our moral compass.
NEBRASKA TRUCK HISTORY
Nebraska Truck Center began in 1969, founded by L. Kent Coen, Lloyd Brown, and the late Floyd Hough with a vision to bring top-tier heavy-duty truck service to central Nebraska. From humble beginnings in Grand Island, the company expanded over the decades with additional locations in North Platte and Hastings, major facility upgrades, and a reputation for trusted service, reliable parts, and strong customer relationships.
Through leadership transitions and continued growth—including the construction of a state-of-the-art headquarters along Highway 281—Nebraska Truck Center remained committed to the people and communities it served.
Today, Floyd’s Truck Center is proud to carry forward that legacy. With deep respect for the foundation built over more than 50 years, we are committed to upholding the same values of quality, service, and innovation—ensuring that what started as a Nebraska dream continues to drive the region forward.
